Applied Coaching Skills Training (ACST)

Professionals including leaders, managers, consultants, human resource professionals, medical professionals, attorneys and teachers are often put into a position to coach others. They also often feel that they are ill equipped to counsel others on personal matters and that when they do give advice, it is not well received. In this training, your team learns the skills that life coaches are taught to effectively coach and counsel others.

ASPC provides Applied Coaching Skills Training (ACST) to organizations who recognize the value of Coach Training for their staff.  Imagine having staff and leadership with the skills to draw the best thinking, ideas and solutions out of each other.  Imagine an organization where people truly listen to each other and motivate each other to express their deepest potential.  Applied Coaching Skills Training provides your staff with the tools that life coaches receive in their training in a streamlined workshop format. The training is fun, interactive and engaging with participants practicing coaching skills on each other throughout the training.  Some of the most observable payoffs from this training include:

  • TRANSFORMATIONAL LISTENING SKILLS
  • POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY SKILLS
  • HOW TO MOTIVATE OTHERS
  • PROPERLY TIMING ADVICE
  • HOW TO PUT OTHERS AT EASE
  • CREATE A CULTURE OF RESPECT
  • ACCESS A GROUP’S BEST THINKING
  • EXPERT CONFLICT RESOLUTION
  • EFFICIENT TEAM COMMUNICATION
  • IDEAL CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • UNLEASH TEAM CREATIVITY
  • PRODUCTIVE & ENJOYABLE MEETINGS

When interviewers use these skills, they attract the best applicants which brings the best people into your business, because they have learned how to ask about what really matters most.  When meetings are run using these skills, teams become productive and efficient, because individuals feel truly listened to and their best thinking emerges.

Applied Coaching Skills Training differs from traditional certification in that the goal of this training is to give staff and leadership the invaluable tools which life coaches use without the requirements associated with the certification process (tests, supervised hour requirements, ethical practice for independent providers etc.)  Training is delivered in a workshop format in 1-2 full training days (or 2-4 half-day modules), depending on the size of your organization and your training goals.  If  primary duties require some components of coaching, this training is ideal.  On the other hand, if primary duties involve mostly coaching, full certification is recommended (see below for more details on this).

In-House Certified Coach Training

Organizations are becoming increasingly more attuned to the personal and professional benefits which Coaching provides and may wish to have a staff member or a number of staff members trained and credentialed as In-House Certified Coaches.  These students may join the standard certification course offered in our offices, or for groups of 6 or more, ASPC will send trainers to your facility to provide the 60-hour training and certification.  Many non-profit organizations are taking advantage of this option, as their staff members function in the role of Professional Coaches on a daily basis.

Please contact Dr. Elliott Rosenbaum, program director, at (800) 680-5762 to discuss having our team come to your next training event for Coaching Skills Training (CST) or to discuss having your staff become In-House Certified Coaches.
